Jasprit Bumrah is arguably the world's best bowler currently and is known majorly for his exploits on the field. However, off the field, his chemistry with wife, Sanjana Ganesan, has been the talk of the town. Thus, there is a lot of excitement among fans about their love story and now, in a recent chat show hosted by Harbhajan and Geeta Basra, the two shared some candid stories.

COVID-19: A Obstacle In Brewing Love Story

One of those stories was of their marriage proposal. Jasprit Bumrah started the story and told that it happened during Covid time in the 2020 IPL. The Indian pacer mentioned that they were finding it difficult to meet because of the Covid-19 restrictions, as Sanjana was working with KKR and he was with MI.

Bumrah, though, was madly in love and carried the ring throughout the tournament in the hope that they would get a chance to meet at some point, but their interaction was minimal.

"That was during COVID time. So, there were bubbles for each and every team. As luck would have it, she was in KKR and I was with Mumbai Indians (MI). Both the teams were in Abu Dhabi. I carried a ring in hope that perhaps after the tournament ends I’ll get a chance. Apart from the ground interaction, we couldn’t meet because of the bubble," as quoted by Sportskeeda.

Jasprit Bumrah Reveals His Romantic Side For Sanjana Ganesan

Eventually, Jasprit Bumrah decided to take serious steps and told people to arrange the bubble-to-bubble transfer. So, after a long wait, the day finally arrived when the Indian pacer got the chance to propose his lady love. The cricketer revealed that he arranged everything to set up a perfect moment and decorated the room as well.

"So, she was out. Then, I had to tell people that look, I’ve brought this ring. Please arrange a bubble to bubble transfer. So, that transfer happened. When she arrived, I did everything myself. I placed the cake myself, decorated everything in my room and I had the ring ready."

Sanjana then added her side to the story where she revealed Bumrah's insistence to take her to balcony. The Indian cricketer, though, was quick to defend himself by adding another layer of romance to the picture, stating that he had candles lit up, and as the breeze was blowing around the balcony, he was struggling to keep everything intact. 

"I’ve come to the room and he’s telling me, ‘balcony mein chalo’ (come to the balcony). I am like, I’ve just walked in, at least give me water. But he’s like, nahi nahi balcony mein chalo (no, no come to the balcony). I had lit candles and it overlooked the beach, so the wind kept blowing them out. I struggled so much,"  Jasprit Bumrah explained.

"He even hung up a towel," Sanjana concluded.

The story shows how much Jasprit Bumrah loves Sanjana Ganesan, and eventually, the two got married in March 2021. They were blessed with a baby boy in 2023, and overall, their marriage proposal saga implies how cricketers are also normal human beings and they too cross limits to make their loved ones happy.
