Rising Indian cricket star Riyan Parag recently gave fans a touching glimpse into his journey by sharing a poignant Instagram story that revealed the man who inspired him the most, who is none other than Virat Kohli. 

While responding to a fun Q&A activity with his followers, Riyan Parag, who currently has 1.2 million followers, revealed his inspiration behind joining the world of cricket.

Riyan Parag Calls 'King' Kohli As His Inspiration

During the Q&A session, when a follower asked, “Who is your inspiration?” Parag responded with a powerful image of Virat Kohli handing him his India debut cap, captioned simply yet meaningfully, “The King who gave me my India cap.”

Virat Kohli, often hailed as “The King” for his aggressive, passionate style and relentless hunger for runs, has clearly left a lasting imprint on Parag’s cricketing ethos.

Interestingly, Parag’s playing style often mirrors Kohli’s trademark intensity and aggression on the field. Whether it’s his fearless play or his animated celebrations, Parag channels the same fiery spirit that Kohli is known for. In the 2025 IPL season, Riyan Parag showcased his growing prowess with the bat and in the field. Representing his franchise with flair, he scored 393 runs in 14 matches at an impressive strike rate of 166.52, including a half-century. 

Beyond batting, Parag’s sharp fielding and occasional handy bowling added balance to the side. Notably, he also put on his leadership hat place in some matches as a stand-in-skipper in place of Sanju Samson, earlier in the season.
