Virat Kohli's recent trip to a spiritual ashram in Vrindavan with his wife, Anushka Sharma, surprised many of his fans - especially given his sudden retirement letter from Test cricket in May 2025. However, as per astro-numerologist Prashant Kapoor, the silent transition into becoming more spiritual has been a long time coming for Kohli.

Kohli and Anushka are one of the most beloved celebrity couples in India. After dating since 2014, they got married in 2017 and are blessed with two kids, a daughter, Vamika, and a son, Akaay.

Virat Kohli’s Love For Anushka Pushed Him Into Spirituality

After the Covid-19 pandemic, Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma have embraced spirituality and are often spotted visiting ashrams and bhajan events. Recently, astro-numerologist Prashant Kapoor spoke to TOI and made an interesting revelation.

Kapoor feels that it was Anushka Sharma's spiritual connection and her soft appeal that influenced Kohli to seek a spiritual way of life.

He explained that love, respect, and emotional bonding can spark major inner changes. Anushka and Virat's relationship rests on solid mutual respect, making spiritual evolution occur organically.

Once known for his fiery attitude on the field and little interest in religious rituals, Kohli has now become more introspective and spiritually devoted. He started visiting ashrams and temples like the Neem Karoli Baba Ashram and the Kaal Bhairav Temple.

Kapoor says this wasn’t a sudden change but something that grew as his love for Anushka deepened.

When Kohli Visited Vrindavan After Test Retirement

Just a day after announcing his retirement from Test cricket on May 12, Virat Kohli visited Vrindavan with his wife, Anushka Sharma, to seek blessings from their spiritual guide, Shri Premanand Govind Sharan Ji Maharaj. This marked Kohli’s third visit to the ashram, showing his deepening spiritual side. Premanand Ji previously praised Anushka for guiding Kohli on his spiritual journey and keeping him grounded.
