Amitabh Bachchan, aka Big B, one of Bollywood's greatest actors, has showered his praise for India cricket star Shubman Gill live on air. While hosting the reality TV show Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC), Bachchan called out Gill for being one of the best players India ever had.

Big B reserves unique praise for Shubman Gill

While speaking to a contestant on the show, Amitabh Bachchan lauded Shubman Gill while calling him an inspiration for the upcoming generation of youngsters and cricket.

“He is so young and plays so good. He has become an inspiration. Bahut adbhut khelte hai that he has been made the captain. (He is incredible with his play and he has also been made the captain of the team)" Big B said on air.

Bachchan's love for the game

Big B himself is an avid follower of the game. His interest in the game is often reflected by his active social media participation, where he often posts his thoughts and opinions on Indian cricket.

During the England vs India series, Bachchan was even criticised for a confusing post directly aimed at the England cricket team after Ben Stokes offered a draw in the 4th Test at Manchester and India declined.

Nevertheless, his show also features many cricket questions where personalities like Virat Kohli and Smriti Mandhana are regular appearances in the form of questions for the contestants.

Gill looks ahead for T20I tour in Australia

Speaking of Shubman Gill, the India captain will now voyage with the men in Blue as a deputy under Suryakumar Yadav for the T20I tour against Australia. The first T20I match of the five-game affair between Australia and India starts on October 29 at Manuka Oval in Canberra.
