Rinku Singh is set to fulfil his father's desire for a luxury car after receiving a sum of INR 3 crores in reward for helping India win a gold medal at the Asian Games in China last September.

The aggressive Indian left-hander, who contributed to Ruturaj Gaikwad-led Indian team's successful run in Hangzhou, received the sum from the Indira Gandhi Foundation in Lucknow.

As reported by Amar Ujaala, Rinku earned a medal from the organisation and a cheque of INR 3 crores for his excellent performance during the quadrennial event, for which India sent an alternate T20I squad for the first time and won the Gold Medal with an unbeaten campaign.

Rinku Singh Set To Gift Father A Luxury Car

With his prize money, Rinku will be giving his father Khanchandra Singh a luxury car gift as reported by Amar Ujaala after the senior Singh's struggles to make ends meet and ensure his son gets to fulfil his desire of playing cricket and representing India.

Recently, a video of Khanchandra Singh selling gas cylinders despite son's stardom went viral. Transporting cylinders remains one of Rinku's father's jobs and helped him during the difficult days, when the India player persevered by declining offers of cleaning and mopping to keep his focus on cricket.

Rinku's ascent into a match-winner for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the IPL and subsequently for India in ODIs and T20Is have since transformed the family's fortunes for good as he can now afford to build a proper home and buy his family the gifts they wished for.

The cricketer is currently busy plying his trade for India A against the visiting England Lions side in Ahmedabad and will be hoping to push his case forward for Test selection for the last three Tests against England.
