Yuzvendra Chahal has shared another cryptic post on his social media accounts, this time following his exclusion from India’s squad for their five-match home T20I series against Australia.
The veteran Indian spinner has not been considered for national selection ever since team’s tour of West Indies earlier this year. The cricketer was excluded from India’s subsequent Asia Cup 2023 as well as World Cup 2023 squads, and also failed to get a spot in the playing XI during team’s tumultuous T20 World Cup run in Australia back in late 2022.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Chahal shared a picture of himself pointing towards the sky and added a motivational quote alongside the same.
Yuzvendra Chahal posts motivational quote
Indian spin veteran Yuzvendra Chahal recently impressed one and all for Haryana at the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy as well as in his side’s opening Vijay Hazare Trophy fixture. The 33-year-old also harvested 21 wickets in this year’s IPL 2023 season while turning up for the Rajasthan Royals franchise.
In spite of his wicket-taking spree, Chahal continues to get overlooked by national selectors for Team India’s cricketing ventures. After he was snubbed from India’s squad for their post-World Cup 2023 home series against Australia, the 33-year-old took to X and shared a motivational quote that reads:
“To hold it together when everyone else thinks otherwise, that's the true strength of a warrior.”
Yuzvendra Chahal’s enigmatic social media post-exclusion from India’s T20I squad against Australia hints at a potential exclusion from the T20 World Cup 2024 in the West Indies. The ongoing series itself serves as a testing ground, and Chahal’s omission suggests a looming likelihood of being overlooked for the prestigious tournament next year.
