After Universe boss Chris Gayle and Olympic champion Usain Bolt, ICC announced former legendary Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh as an ambassador for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024, scheduled in the USA and West Indies.

In a major announcement just 36 days prior to the tournament, ICC has confirmed Yuvraj Singh’s addition to the 2024 T20 World Cup global ambassadors list.

Earlier this month, the apex body listed Universe boss Chris Gayle and eight-time Olympic medallist sprinter Usain Bolt as official ambassadors for the event.

Notably, Yuvraj Singh’s name was shortlisted to celebrate his iconic six sixes over against Stuart Broad in the inaugural edition of the tournament.

In the 2007 T20 World Cup, Yuvraj slammed six sixes of Stuart Broad’s single over which helped India not only to advance further into the tournament, but also claim maiden title victory.

Meanwhile, Yuvraj Singh issued an official statement after ICC’s formal announcement stating that some of his fondest memories of his cricketing career stepped from the T20 World Cup, including the six sixes over against England. Hence, to be able to celebrate is no short of privilege for him.

"Some of my fondest cricketing memories have come from playing at the T20 World Cup, including hitting six sixes in an over, so it’s very exciting to be part of this edition, which is set to be the biggest one yet," Yuvraj Singh said.

The 2024 T20 World Cup is scheduled to go on floors from June 2, with a total of 55 matches to be played across nine different venues in the United States of America and the West Indies.

The finals of the prestigious tournament will be held on June 29 in Barbados, West Indies.
