Young Guns 'Likely' to Miss IPL 2023 Due to Injuries

In a major blow to the aspirations of the Chennai Super Kings and Lucknow Super Giants, star pacers, Mukesh Choudhary and Mohsin Khan are nurisng injuries and that has put cloud covers on their participation in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL).

Both the youngsters had an impressive IPL 2022, and were expected to come good for their respective franchises this season, but the latest setback is likely to derail their progress.

At the moment, Choudhary is present at the National Cricket Academy (NCA), wherein he is going through a rehabilitation process for an injured back. Known as a white-ball specialist, Choudhary has played 13 first-class games, and has been out of action since December last year.

Kasi Viswanathan, CSK CEO shed a light on Choudhary's injury.

"We are waiting on Mukesh but we do not have much hope. He was one of our bowling mainstays last year. It will be unfortunate if he misses out."

Talking about Mohsin Khan, he has shoulder issues since the past few years, and the left-arm seamer got his shoulder operated in October, last year. The wily pacer played 9 matches last season in the IPL and bagged 14 wickets at an economy of 5.97.

Currently he is practising with the Super Giants squad, but the injury might take time to heal and the team management are not willing to take any risks.
