Yashasvi Jaiswal, who made his international debut in the recently-concluded Test series in West Indies, continues to make giant strides at the top level. The 21-year-old launched his Test career with a match-winning 171 at Windsor Park, all while forming a 229-run opening partnership with his captain Rohit Sharma.

Jaiswal’s innings helped him rise to number 74 on the ICC Rankings for Test batsmen. The cricketer unleashed scores of 57 and 38 in his subsequent outing, thus justifying his rapid rise in international cricket with another big leap in the rankings.

Yashasvi Jaiswal biggest gainer from series win in WI

Yashasvi Jaiswal finished his maiden Test series as its highest run-aggregator with 266 of them to his name. Following his twin knocks at Port of Spain, the youngster climbed another 11 spots up the ICC rankings for best Test batsmen.

His captain Rohit Sharma, who finished the series with 240 runs, gained a rung to be placed at number nine on the standings. As of now, he shares the spot with Sri Lankan batter Dimuth Karunaratne.

Ravindra Jadeja also climbed one spot up on the rankings, albeit on the bowling charts, following his seven-wicket series haul across the two Tests. He displaced Sri Lankan spinner Prabath Jayasuriya to move to sixth position on the rankings, which is currently helmed by his spin teammate Ravichandran Ashwin.

Meanwhile, Jadeja retained his top spot on the all-rounders chart, and his followed by Ashwin at second. Fellow Indian Axar Patel also finds his name amongst the top 10 all-rounders, as he is currently placed fifth on the table despite not making it into India’s playing XI against West Indies.
