Seems like the 2020-21 Border-Gavaskar Series is on repeat mode as similar incidents are taking place this time around. Captain is at home due to the birth of his child and the team is suffering from injury crisis, we have seen this before.
In the latest development, star India opener, Yashasvi Jaiswal was seen in some discomfort during the net session ahead of the first Test match. Jaiswal looked in agonising pain as the physio attended him during the practice session.
The seriousness of the injury is relatively unknown, but by the looks of the visuals, it seems he suffered a neck spasm, and it has put his participation in doubt for the Perth Test match, starting on November 22.
India are already missing their first choice opener and captain, Rohit Sharma due to the birth of his child, and now Jaiswal's injury has put a cast on his involvement in the 1st Test. He was taken off the field as a precautionary measure as the Indian team sweats on his fitness.
The official confirmation of the injury is yet to be revealed, but the fans will hope that Jaiswal is fit enough to participate in the Perth Test match.
India to play Perth Test with an inexperienced side
India could field an inexperienced team for the first Test match. Captain Rohit Sharma will join the team ahead of the second Test match as India will feel his absence.
India are also sweating on Shubman Gill's finger injury as the star batter was officially ruled out of the first Test match. Plus, barring Jasprit Bumrah, the bowling attack looks a bit weak as the visitors will try and win the series to seal their place in the WTC finale.
The last time India fielded an inexperienced side in Australia, they went onto clinch the series, and the fans will hope Team India can repeat the same feat this time around as well.
