Heading into the World Cup team selection week, all the fans, experts and ex-cricketers are picking and speculating their best 15 men who should travel to the USA and ex-India pacer, Zaheer Khan is no exception.

During a chat with JioCinema, when the ex-speedster was asked to pick his Indian squad that should board the flight to the USA, Zaheer made a couple of interesting calls.

Zaheer's bold calls for T20 WC

In his 15-man squad, the in-form wicketkeeper, Sanju Samson didn't find a spot while Shubman Gill, who is not a popular choice to head into the World Cup found a place as the third opener. 

Samson's frontline spinner for Rajasthan Royals, Yuzvendra Chahal also got a nod ahead of Ravi Bishnoi and Axar Patel. The biggest surprise pick by the World Cup winner came as he picked Yash Dayal who has not yet made his international debut in his team as his fourth pacer.

Another bold call from Zaheer was to select Rishabh Pant, who hasn't played a game for the national team since December of 2022 as his only keeper ahead of so many other in-form options.

Rohit Sharma (c), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Rinku Singh, Shivam Dube, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja. Rishabh Pant (wk), Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh, Md. Siraj, Yash Dayal.

India is reportedly going to pick their preliminary World Cup squad in the next couple of days as the deadline is May 1. However, any required changes by May 25.
