Delhi Capitals continue their pursuit to make it to the playoffs after registering a 10-run win against Mumbai Indians, posting their fifth win of the season.

In the post-match interview, Rishabh Pant talked about the change in the game state due to the impact-sub rule, how good Jake Fraser-McGurk has been and their playoff chances.

Batting first, thanks to McGurk's 84(27), Tristan Stubbs' 48*(25) and Shai Hope's 41(17), DC posted 257/4. MI despite Tilak Varma's and Tim David's efforts fell short by 10 runs.

Pant on the winning feeling

Pant on being asked about how satisfied he was with the first innings total, stated that the score was par but also discussed the other factors that influence such chases, qualification scenario and Fraser-McGurk's knock.

"We were pretty happy with 250 but because of the impact player, it is getting difficult. At the same time, there are some things that we can do as a team and take positives from it."

On coming forward to the stump during David's batting discuss the thought process behind it, calling it a difficult task to do it with the likes of David.

"Definitely I can do that [more often] but the bowler also should be confident, but with a batter like David was walking down and today it worked."

Pant lauds Fraser-McGurk

He also lauded McGurk's ball striking and expectations from new players coming into the side. He also discussed their current form and chances of making it to the playoffs, stating the importance of taking it one game at a time.

"He has been amazing since day 1. This is what you want from a new player, to create an impact. Looking forward to playing more with him as he just keeps improving."

Delhi Capitals will next face Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens on Monday, April 29. After this win, the Delhi Capitals have won 5 matches and have 10 points in their bag.
