Despite getting bundled out for 469 on Day 2 of the ongoing ICC World Test Championship (WTC) Final 2023, Australia holds a commanding position over the one-off Test against India. India's batting, once again, failed to live up to expectations, as on conditions ideally for batting, they collapsed against Australian pacers.

By stumps, India were 151 for 5, with Ajinkya Rahane and Srikar Bharat batting in the middle on 29* and 5*, respectively. Scott Boland, who troubled India with his line and length, claimed the crucial wicket of Shubman Gill, who offered a wrong shot and perished. 

Speaking to Star Sports after the day's conclusion, Boland sounded elated about getting Gill's wicket and gave insight into how The Oval track is behaving after two days of action.

Here's what Boland said

"Really exciting, pretty nervous before the start of this Test but nice to get into this game. He’s (Gill) a very good player, nice to knock him over early. We are in a very good spot now. We are strong after 2 days, the pitch is a bit up and down and hopefully it will be harder for India to bat tomorrow. It felt like that in the middle, a couple balls taking off, a couple keeping low,”

Day 2 began with both Travis Head and Steven Smith registering their respective milestones, however, an improved bowling performance from India, witnessed Australia lose seven wickets for 142 runs, with Mohammed Siraj claiming a four-fer.
