Deandra Dottin is set to make her Women’s Premier League (WPL) debut in the upcoming 2025 season as she was purchased by the Gujarat Giants franchise at the auction on Sunday, December 15. Becoming the first player to go under the hammer in the afternoon, Dottin was acquired for a staggering sum of Rs.1.70 crore, i.e., over three times her base price value of Rs.50 lakh.

Back in November, the Gujarat Giants franchise retained Beth Mooney, Laura Wolvaardt, Ashleigh Gardner, Phoebe Litchfield among several other cricketers. Under the leadership of Mooney, the Giants finished at the bottom of the WPL 2024 season earlier this year, as they lost six out of their eight league fixtures.

A veteran of 132 T20I matches for the West Indies, Dottin has also played 56 Women’s Big Bash League matches, and 29 matches combined in WCPL and Women’s The Hundred.
