Williamson to lead NZ Squad [X]
New Zealand Cricket has revealed its 15-man squad for the upcoming World Cup, and it's a squad that doesn't spring too many surprises. Kane Williamson makes a return to lead the Kiwi team as the captain, a role he's familiar with.
Also making a notable inclusion is Devon Conway, who missed out on participation in the Indian Premier League 2024 due to injury.
NZ squad announced for T20 WC 2024
Michael Bracewell, who recently led the team in the T20 series against Pakistan and performed decently as captain, has been included in the squad. Bracewell's all-round skills make him a vital player, particularly in the slow tracks of the West Indies.
The rest of Kiwi squad features the usual picks like Trent Boult,Tim Southee, Jimmy Neesham, and Mitchell Santner, who have been mainstays for the team. Matt Henry and Rachin Ravindra, currently playing in IPL 2024, have earned spots in the squad, marking their debut in a T20 World Cup.
The exclusions of Tim Seifert and Adam Milne come as the only surprises in the announcement.
Additionally, Daryl Mitchell, who scored a fifty for CSK against SRH last day, has also made it into the squad. With this mix of experienced players and fresh talent, New Zealand looks set for a competitive campaign.
