Amidst rising speculation about the fate of the ICC Champions Trophy scheduled for 2025, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has expressed confidence in hosting the prestigious cricketing event despite concerns surrounding India's reluctance to play in Pakistan.

A security specialist will be among the delegation members who will examine the possible venues in Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi.

"We had a good meeting in Dubai on the tournament and its technical side and as far as we are concerned we see no reason the event would not be held in Pakistan so why even discuss other scenarios," Naqvi stated.

India's decision not to send its team to Pakistan for events like the Asia Cup 2023 has led to questions about the feasibility of Pakistan hosting international cricket tournaments.

However, Naqvi dismissed concerns, stating, "Why are we even considering such scenarios?" He emphasized that discussions with the ICC have been positive, with no indication of a forced visit by India.

The PCB chief's remarks come amidst speculation about the possibility of the ICC Champions Trophy adopting a hybrid model, co-hosted by Pakistan and the UAE. However, Naqvi has reiterated that the tournament will remain in Pakistan, with the board already underway with venue renovations.

India's hesitancy to play in Pakistan stems from security concerns, dating back to 2008. Despite governmental directives, Team India has refrained from participating in cricketing events hosted in Pakistan. This avoidance led to the Asia Cup 2023 being played in a hybrid format.

With preparations underway and assurances from the PCB, cricket fans worldwide eagerly await the ICC delegation's assessment and the final decision regarding the venue for the 2025 Champions Trophy.

The PCB's optimism is palpable as they gear up to showcase Pakistan's capability to host a global cricketing spectacle.
