After a tense week off the field, the IPL 2025 caravan is all set to roll again from May 17 and for Chennai Super Kings fans, there is finally a ray of sunshine. Amid the uncertainty around overseas player availability, Noor Ahmad will be back in yellow and that is music to every CSK fan’s ears.

Noor Ahmad Is Set To Rejoin CSK Before IPL 2025 Resumption

The Afghan left-arm wrist-spinner is all set to rejoin the squad in Delhi where CSK are regrouping ahead of their last two league matches. And Noor Ahmad’s return might just help CSK avoid the wooden spoon.

While most overseas players scrambled to return home during the temporary IPL shutdown, Noor stayed back in Chennai. It was to wrap up his USA visa formalities ahead of next month’s Major League Cricket (MLC), where he will suit up for the Texas Super Kings.

Now that the paperwork is out of the way, he is ready to roll just in time for CSK’s final stretch.

The Bright Spot In A Forgettable Season

CSK’s IPL 2025 campaign has gone off the rails. With just 3 wins from 12 games, they are stuck at the bottom of the points table and out of the playoff race. But if there’s been one shining light, it’s been Noor Ahmad.

The young spinner has been nothing short of sensational, racking up 20 wickets in 12 matches and sitting at the top of the wicket-takers list. His average has been a tidy 17.25 and economy is 8.02. Whether it’s breaking partnerships in the middle overs or choking the opposition for runs, Noor’s been CSK’s go-to man all season.

Two Games Left To Avoid Rock Bottom

CSK now have two matches left in their IPL 2025 journey:

  • May 20 vs Rajasthan Royals (Home)
  • May 25 vs Gujarat Titans (Away)

They are out of the playoff race, yes, but pride is still on the line. Winning both games might just save them from finishing last and if anyone can help CSK turn the tide, it is Noor Ahmad.
