In an encouraging development for Lucknow SuperGiants (LSG), promising fast bowler Mayank Yadav has joined the team ahead of the crucial face-off against Rajasthan Royals. Led by Rishabh Pant, LSG will take on Sanju Samson's RR in a riveting clash on April 19. 

Is Mayank Yadav Fit To Play LSG vs RR Match?

Hailed for his ability to rattle the batters with sheer pace, Mayank Yadav was sidelined from the initial phase of the ongoing IPL 2025 due to multiple injuries. A recurring back injury, which he sustained during India's home T20I series against Bangladesh, coupled with a freak toe injury, significantly delayed his comeback to competitive cricket. 

However, after several weeks of rehabilitation at BCCI's Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru, Mayank finally received fitness clearance to join the SuperGiants camp for the remainder of the season. 

Having said that, Mayank's participation in the upcoming LSG vs RR clash is still uncertain, as his fitness will thoroughly be assessed by the SuperGiants' team physio Ashish Kaushik. If he passes those tests, Mayank will be cleared to take on the Royals at Sawai Mansingh Stadium on Saturday evening. 

Who Will Mayank Yadav Replace If He Returns For LSG vs RR?

Considering Shardul Thakur has emerged as LSG's trump card and Avesh Khan has been impressive in patches, the SuperGiants might exclude Akash Deep if Mayank Yadav returns to action. Currently, the Lucknow-based franchise is placed fifth in the points table with four victories in seven matches.
