  • Wi Vs Ban Nicholas Pooran Lashes Out At Batting Group For Defeat Against Bangladesh In The Second Odi

WI vs BAN | Nicholas Pooran lashes out at batting group for defeat against Bangladesh in the second ODI

West Indies white-ball skipper Nicholas Pooran sounded frustrated with the continuous failures of the batting unit in ODI cricket after the hosts lost the second ODI against Bangladesh on Wednesday (July 13).

Speaking on the team's disappointing batting performance, Pooran said they must prepare a blueprint for batting in ODIs.

The dynamic southpaw also confessed to the Windies batters' failure to capitalize on good batting tracks.

"Tough, tough day. We didn't show up as a batting group. We need to sit and chat about how we need to play ODI cricket. Obviously, the conditions didn't help us today, but whenever we get good batting tracks, we need to plan how to bat better in this format," said Pooran in the post-match presentation.

Pooran stressed the importance of batting 'properly' to win games in ODIs

"Definitely, we need to bat properly to win games; we have to put runs on the board and need to find a way to play ODI cricket better. Need to stick together, and hopefully, we can get better," Pooran concluded.

Bangladesh handed the West Indies a harsh nine-wicket defeat in the 2nd ODI at Guyana to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.

After being put in to bat, the hosts could post only 108 on the board, which was chased successfully by the visitors in 20.4 overs.
