India's win at the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 has brought immense joy to the nation, but unlike the grand celebrations following the T20 World Cup 2024 victory, there won’t be an open bus parade this time. Fans had gathered in huge numbers to celebrate the T20 World Cup win in Mumbai, with the team parading through the streets in an open-top bus. However, this time, things will be different.

Why Is There No Bus Parade?

After Team India’s victory over New Zealand in the Champions Trophy 2025 final, fans were expecting a similar celebration. The Indian team, led by Rohit Sharma, won their second consecutive ICC title, marking their third Champions Trophy win overall. Despite this achievement, fans won’t get the chance to celebrate alongside the team in the same way.

The main reason seems to be the upcoming IPL 2025, which starts on March 22. With such a tight schedule, the players have very little time to rest before jumping back into action. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has therefore decided against organising a large celebration.

While videos of the players celebrating their victory, like Rohit and Virat Kohli dancing with stumps or Sunil Gavaskar dancing at the venue, have gone viral, there won’t be a chance for fans to see the team on a parade float.

Champions Trophy Winners Arrive

The players have already headed to different cities, while head coach Gautam Gambhir, captain Rohit Sharma, and Shreyas Iyer received a grand reception on March 11.

With the IPL pre-season already starting for some teams, like Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad, it’s logistically tough to bring everyone together for a celebration. Most players are looking forward to a brief break before they dive into their IPL commitments, so the focus has shifted away from the bus parade to get ready for the next big tournament.
