The third and final T20I between India and Afghanistan last evening in Bangalore witnessed a run-fest like no other, where 424 runs were scored in the regulation 40 overs of play and another 44 in the super-overs, where Rohit Sharma and Co. prevailed.

In the match, where bowlers were hammered, Sharma tasked Ravi Bishnoi to defend 11 runs in the second super-over, which the bowler managed quite comfortably, a move that earned high praise from head coach Rahul Dravid

After the first T20I, Sharma's captaincy has looked more sharp and decisive, which on many occasions helped India win crunch moments, and the move to bowl Bishnoi ended up being a masterstroke.

As quoted by Cricbuzz, Dravid speaking in a post-match conference, stated that Sharma's approach showcased that India went for taking wickets as 11 could have been chased down given Afghanistan's fire power.

Think it was a great call from the skipper to go with the spinner - Rahul Dravid

"I think Rohit (Sharma) went with his gut, he went with a call. I think he felt that the spinner had a better chance to take those two wickets. It was one of games when 11 wasn't probably a huge score and where you know that if they batted those six balls, with the power they had, they probably would've got the 12 runs. You needed to take two wickets. I think it was a great call from the skipper to go with the spinner.

"He (Ravi Bishnoi) could've gone for two sixes but I thought Bishnoi was brilliant, because he bowled two superb balls. He pulled the length back. If the length had gone slightly fuller, the way they were batting, on this small ground, it would've gone for a six. I think it was really good gut call from Rohit to go for the wickets and be more positive rather than probably a safer option which people would've expected."

Apart from leading as a captain, Sharma also took charge as the main batter, scoring an unbeaten 121* during the regulated 20-overs, and then starring for India in both super-overs as well.
