The development comes hours after Barbados lost their Commonwealth Games 2022 T20 match against Australia by nine wickets. The T20 World Cup winner scored eight runs and went for 25 runs in her one over during the game.

The 31-year-old blamed organisational problems and issues within the team as one of her reasons from going away from cricket.

Dottin, took to Twitter to announce her retirement, where she wrote:

"There have been many obstacles during my cricket career that I have had to overcome, however, the current climate and team environment has been non-conductive (conducive) to my ability to thrive and reignite my passion,"

"With much sadness but without regret, I realize I am no longer able to adhere to team culture and team environment as it has undermined my ability to perform excellently."

Dottin has represented West Indies in 143 ODIs and 126 T20Is, since making her debut way back in 2008.

Regarded as one of the most destructive batters in Women's cricket, she has accumulated 3,727 ODI and 2,697 T20I runs, apart from picking 72 and 62 wickets, respectively.

She has part of West Indies T20 World Cup winning campaign in 2016.

Barbados-born was the side's leading run-scorer and highest wicket-taker in the 2018 edition as well.

Dottin is likely to feature for Barbados in their final CWG 22 match against India on August 3.
