Over the years, renowned Harsha Bhogle has caught captains and players off guard with his tricky questions and arguments. He attempted to employ the same smart trick with Gujarat Titans (GT) captain Shubman Gill after his team won a cliffhanger against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Jaipur on Wednesday, but he didn’t anticipate what was coming. However, Gill gave him a taste of his own medicine.

In another nail-biter that went down to the last ball, GT prevailed against the high-flying Royals to secure two crucial points and halt RR’s winning streak. Gill shone with the bat in the run chase, scoring a brilliant 72. Yet, when he was dismissed, there were still runs to be chased down. A partnership between Rahul Tewatia and Rashid Khan ensured a thrilling victory with 15 runs needed off the last over.

During the post-match presentation ceremony, Bhogle commented to Gill that some believed Gujarat had delayed their efforts too much.

Harsha Bhogle: 'Some of us thought you had left it too late.'

Shubman Gill: 'When Gujarat is playing, never think that again.'

Harsha Bhogle: 'We will remember that.'

Watch: Gill's Thug Response to Harsha

Gill's comment referenced GT’s never-die spirit, which they've exhibited since the inception of the franchise in 2022. They have won numerous games in the last over, with their lower-middle order, led by Rahul Tewatia, often guiding the team to victory. Even this time, it was the resilience of Tewatia and Rashid that made the run chase possible.

Harsha has frequently teased cricketers without facing any consequences. One memorable encounter was with MSD when he attempted to elicit a response from then Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper by mentioning “the legacy you left behind for CSK,” to which CSK’s Thala responded: "Still, I haven't left behind".
