On Thursday, July 4, the Indian team landed in New Delhi after being stuck in Barbados for four days because of Cyclone Beryl. The World Cup winners left for India on Wednesday, and the fans gathered in thousands at the Indira Gandhi International Airport to welcome their star players.

The players received a grand welcome upon their arrival at the New Delhi airport. Meanwhile, BCCI shared a video of the players arriving in the national capital and celebrating their success with the fans.

In the video, the Indian skipper can be seen performing a bhangra and cutting a special cake alongside BCCI secretary Jay Shah to celebrate the title-winning edition. Even BCCI president Roger Binny was present during the cake-cutting ceremony.

"Jubilation in the air The #T20WorldCup Champions have arrived in New Delhi! Presenting the raw emotions of Captain @ImRo45-led #TeamIndia's arrival filled with celebrations" wrote BCCI on their Twitter handle. 

After the grand welcome, the players left for the hotel as they were set to meet PM Narendra Modi at his residence before heading to Mumbai for an open bus parade.
