Former Indian captain Virat Kohli displayed a beautiful gesture that melted hearts all over the world. Taking to Twitter, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared a video on Sunday, showing Kohli accepting and wearing a bracelet lovingly handcrafted by a young girl at the Kensington Oval in Barbados.

Virat Kohli's heartfelt gesture for a young fan left fans in awe

The video captured the emotional interaction between Kohli and a family of avid cricket fans who had come together for a "family reunion" to watch the India-West Indies ODI series. Their collective love for cricket was further boosted by Kohli's sincere and humble reaction to the little girl's gift.

"I was screaming 'Kohli', he came over, and I gave him my bracelet that I made with my hands," the child narrated with joy in the video.

The family's heartwarming moment with Kohli was not only about cricket; it was a connection that reached into the very heart of human kindness and sportsmanship. Kohli's unassuming acceptance of the bracelet, worn proudly in front of them, is proof of his character, both as a sports icon and a human being.

"It's a family reunion... It was really kind of him to come over here because my daughter did really make him a bracelet, and he was really nice, and it brings tears to my eyes that he was so down to earth, wearing the bracelet and taking pictures with us," added the girl's father with tears in his eyes.

The video also showed current skipper Rohit Sharma and player Suryakumar Yadav interacting with fans, but it was Kohli's gesture that captured the attention and hearts of fans both at the stadium and online.

On the cricketing front, India is facing West Indies in a three-match ODI series. The series is levelled at 1-1 after West Indies won the second match by six wickets on Sunday. India had previously won the first ODI by five wickets.

Senior pros Kohli and Rohit Sharma were rested for the second ODI, giving a chance to the younger talents, though they were unable to seize the opportunity as India was bowled out for 181, with West Indies chasing the target with six wickets remaining.

While the series has had its ebbs and flows, Kohli's touching interaction with the young fan has emerged as a pleasing highlight of the series.
