Virat Kohli, having notched up his sixth fifty-plus score of the 2023 World Cup with a match-winning knock against South Africa, seems to be bracing himself up for yet another batting masterclass. The cricketer was recently spotted toiling away at a nets training session at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium ahead of India’s imminent clash against Netherlands.

Kohli faced Ravichandran Ashwin in a seemingly grueling nets session, and also tonked an unidentified bowler for a huge straight six.

In an excerpt from Virat Kohli’s recent training session with teammates at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, the cricketer can be seen thumping a huge six over the bowler’s head. The sound of the bat, complementing Kohli’s prolific run in the middle off late, resonated across the iconic venue before the cricketer faced Ravichandran Ashwin in his extensive session.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli is currently placed at number three among the leading run-scorers of the 2023 World Cup, finding himself only behind Quinton de Kock and Rachin Ravindra.

The Indian batting maverick launched his tournament campaign with a run-chase masterclass against Australia, and notched up additional match-winning half-centuries against Afghanistan, New Zealand and Sri Lanka.

Kohli also pounded Bangladesh and South Africa with identical tons to take his ODI century tally to 49, thus bringing him on levelling terms with the legendary Sachin Tendulkar.

His run-fest, coupled with opener Rohit Sharma’s batting bombardment within the opening powerplay, have ensured that Team India finished the league stage at the top of the World Cup 2023 points table. Kohli and the rest of his teammates will now face Netherlands in Bengaluru in their final league fixture, before shifting their base to Mumbai for the imminent semi-finals.
