Tilak Varma reunites with Brevis ahead of second ODI

A day prior to India’s second ODI match against South Africa at Port Elizabeth on December 19, rising star Tilak Varma was seen interacting with his Mumbai Indians’ IPL teammate Dewald Brevis at the latter’s residence.

Varma shared their reunion through a short video on X (formerly Twitter), where the two cricketers can be seen playing a game of table tennis. The Indian batsman even posed alongside Brevis’ family at his house, and posted a heartfelt gratitude towards his Proteas-based teammate. Varma wrote:

“Distance doesn’t change much, not even your table tennis skills 😂💙 Was so good meeting you and your family my brother, and can’t wait to see you soon 🤗 Thank you for hosting me ❤️ @BrevisDewald”

Back in November 2023, i.e., during IPL 2024 retention phase, both Tilak Varma and Dewald Brevis found themselves among the 17 players retained by the Mumbai Indians franchise for next year’s IPL 2024 season. The two youngsters also made their respective IPL debuts through Mumbai Indians back in IPL 2022.

Varma and Brevis have often complemented each other, whenever one of the two attains a significant high in their respective careers. For instance, both players congratulated each other through a heartfelt post when they received their maiden international caps earlier this year.

Tilak Varma will now be seen turning up for Team India in the second ODI of their three-match series against hosts South Africa. The much-awaited fixture will be played on December 19 at Port Elizabeth.
