The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season will likely commence from March 22 onwards next year. As per several recent reports, the tournament will be concluding by the end of May. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will soon be confirming the final schedule, once the polling dates for India’s 2024 general elections are declared by the election committee.

IPL 2024 gets tentative date

On December 18, i.e., a day prior to IPL 2024 auctions in UAE, an ESPNCricinfo report confirmed that IPL 2024 season will likely be competed between March 22 and the end of May.

On the same day, several cricket boards also confirmed the availability of their players for the IPL 2024 season. Boards like Cricket Australia, Cricket South Africa, Afghanistan, West Indies and New Zealand cleared up their schedule to give full approval of their player’s participation.

Australian speedster Josh Hazlewood, on the other hand, will only be available for action from the first week of May. The star pacer was recently released by the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) franchise during IPL 2024 retention day back in November. He, along with over 300 cricketers from all over the world are currently up for grabs at the auction.

Major cricket boards like England, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, however, have only given conditional approval for IPL 2024 participation of their players.
