Team India didn't begin their Asia Cup 2023 campaign on a positive note, as their opening match against arch-rivals Pakistan had to be abandoned due to bad weather after the first innings, during which India scored 266 runs.

India's star-studded top order, comprising Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, and Shreyas Iyer, had a tough time dealing with Pakistan's fast bowling duo of Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf yet again.

If it weren't for the heroics of Hardik Pandya and Ishan Kishan and their epic 138-run partnership, Team India would have been in deep trouble trying to cross the 200-run mark. While Pandya smashed 87 runs, Ishan Kishan scored crucial 82 runs.

The Men in Blue made a roaring comeback in their next game against Nepal, trouncing them by 10 wickets and booking a spot in the Super 4 stage. They are now all set to take on their arch-nemesis Pakistan in the Super 4 stage, set to be played on September 10 in Colombo.

Rohit Sharma & Co. is putting their noses to the grindstone in practice, gearing up for a comeback against Pakistan. However, with Colombo getting drenched, they are currently confined to indoor training sessions.

Meanwhile, KL Rahul, India's star wicketkeeper, has joined the team after missing the first two matches against Pakistan and Nepal. However, the burning question is whether Rahul will make the cut in the playing XI, especially after Ishan Kishan's jaw-dropping show against Pakistan in the opener.

It's worth noting that there's a high chance of rain putting a damper on India vs. Pakistan clash in Colombo once again. But, unlike the group stage match, there's a backup day on the schedule for this game.
