In a significant development, swashbuckling Indian batter Suryakumar Yadav has joined the Mumbai Indians' camp ahead of their all-important IPL 2024 clash against Delhi Capitals. 

In a video posted by the Mumbai Indians' official handle on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Suryakumar Yadav, aka SKY, can be seen entering the team hotel in a luxurious Mercedes SUV. 

The batter seems quite happy on his IPL comeback as he enthusiastically makes his way into the team hotel.

To those unversed, Suryakumar Yadav was diagnosed with a sports hernia after an ankle injury ruled him out of India's white-ball series against South Africa. 

He underwent a successful surgery for the sports hernia before receiving a fitness clearance from the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru. 

Suryakumar has been the backbone of the Mumbai Indians' batting lineup since joining the franchise. Overall, in 83 innings, the dynamic right-handed batter has amassed 2641 runs for the franchise at an average of 35.21 and a belligerent strike rate of 146.23. 

Thus, his absence adversely affected the five-time champions, leading to their underwhelming IPL 2024 campaign under Hardik Pandya's captaincy. In pursuit of their first win of the season, MI will take on Delhi Capitals in their fourth group-stage fixture on April 7.
