Indian star wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant was spotted cheering for North Zone in their match against South Zone on Day 4 of the recently concluded Duleep Trophy 2023 Semi Final, on Saturday at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

Pant is currently undergoing rehabilitation in National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru for injuries sustained following a serious car accident while on his way to his hometown Roorkee in December last year.

He has been consistently giving updates on his social media accounts about his recovery status in NCA, where he has recently started to walk without crutches and go up stairs without taking any support.

Amid his recovery process Pant made a surprise visit to Chinnaswamy Stadium on day 4 of the Duleep Trophy Semi Final between South Zone and North Zone. He was seen guiding North Zone players from the sidelines during their fight to earn a spot in the final.

Indian T20I captain Hardik Pandya was also seen joining Pant later near the boundary ropes to watch the intense closing passage of the Semi Final battle.

Earlier, chasing 215 on Day 4, South Zone were 183 for four in the second session when rain halted the play. The play resumed after a long break as South Zone needed 32 runs in the last session of play to confirm their place in the final.

The equation was as easy as it looked but in a dramatic turn of events, North Zone made it difficult for the South batters as they followed an unique tactic of slowing the over rates and tried to take the game towards a draw with North Zone advancing to the final on the basis of a 3-run first innings lead.

Eventually, South Zone got over the line by two wickets and made their place in the final. They will now face West Zone for the summit clash, which will start from July 12 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
