Bangladesh and Indian women’s teams to collide in a T20I on July 9 to embark their three-match series in Mirpur. The two sides will also clash in a subsequent ODI series at the venue to sum up India women’s 2023 tour of Bangladesh. The series in Bangladesh marks India Women’s first international rodeo since their semi-final defeat to Australia at the 2023 T20 World Cup in South Africa. Earlier at the T20 showpiece event, the ‘Women in Blue’ stormed into the semis with impressive group stage wins over West Indies, Ireland and arch-rivals Pakistan.
Team India constitutes an impressive line-up of seniors, including dynamic opener Smriti Mandhana and captain Harmanpreet Kaur.
In their previous outing in Bangladesh, Kaur and co. emerged victorious at the 2022 Asia Cup by defeating Sri Lanka in the final. They also whipped Bangladesh Women in the same tournament, with the fixture marking the last meeting between the two sides.
