Ravi Ashwin played 106 Tests for India and scalped 537 wickets to become the second-highest wicket-taker for his country in the red ball format. Rohit Sharma reveals convincing Ashwin to stay
In a candid confession, Indian captain Rohit Sharma revealed that he first heard about Ravichandran Ashwin’s retirement in Perth. However, he somehow convinced the spinner to stay back for the pink ball Test in Adelaide, which the veteran obliged. However, with his mind being so firm, Rohit couldn’t force him to stay until the end of the tour, as Ashwin called it quits after the third Test in Gabba.
