Former Indian cricketer Rahul Dravid, renowned as one of the sport's finest batsmen, is currently serving as the head coach of the Indian cricket team. Dravid's remarkable record across all formats speaks for itself, with over 10,000 runs in both Test matches and ODIs.

Dravid's shadow batting brought back memories of his glorious career

Presently, he is accompanying the Indian team in the West Indies, diligently preparing them for the forthcoming all-format tour against the island nation. While Dravid, in his role as coach, is fully immersed in his responsibilities, it is impossible for the former batsman to stay away from the cricketing equipment that defined his illustrious career.

During a practice session ahead of the first Test against West Indies, he was seen examining a bat, getting a feel for it in his hands. In the same vein, Dravid engaged in shadow batting, elegantly mimicking drives, cuts, flicks, and backfoot punches.

Meanwhile, the upcoming Test series against West Indies carries immense significance for Team India as it marks the beginning of the new World Test Championship (WTC) cycle.

This tour also holds paramount importance for the Indian side as they prepare for the upcoming ICC World Cup 2023, scheduled to be hosted in India during October and November.

Under the guidance of coach Dravid and the leadership of Rohit Sharma, the Indian team will face the Windies in two Tests, three ODIs, and five T20Is. Notably, two of the T20 matches will take place in Lauderhill, Florida, in the United States of America.

Anticipation is building for India's highly awaited West Indies tour to get underway with the first Test of the two-match series set to commence on July 12 in Dominica.
