Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s (RCB) new player, Phil Salt, accidentally hit India star batter Virat Kohli on the side of the head while tossing balls into the crowd as souvenirs during the RCB unbox at the Chinnaswamy Stadium event on March 17. At first, Kohli wasn’t sure who was responsible, but once he figured it out, he playfully chased Salt with a smile.
Phil Salt Playfully Hits Virat Kohli On His Head
It was all in good fun, as Virat Kohli soon hugged Salt, shared a few laughs, and continued walking around the ground with his teammates. Though RCB’s cameras didn’t capture the full moment, they did record Kohli’s reaction and Salt’s failed attempt to slip away unnoticed.
"I just saw Virat in my eye-line," Salt said in the video shared by RCB. “An honestly, I just got him so nicely in the side of the head. He literally got whiplashed looking around for me. And… I don’t know who was pointing at me, he thought it was someone else and then his eyes turned to me and he looked serious. I wasn’t sticking around! I tried to get straight out of there but he was on me in no time at all. If there’s footage of that, it’ll be very, very funny," Salt added.
