Pakistan secured their first victory in the T20 World Cup 2024 by defeating Canada by 7 wickets at Nassau County Stadium. After suffering two defeats in their initial matches against USA and India, this win was a much-needed boost.

However, controversy arose when a video of fans chanting "Fixer" at Pakistan's pacer Mohammad Amir went viral. Amir, who returned from retirement in 2024, has been pivotal for Pakistan, taking five wickets in his last three innings in this tournament.

Despite his contributions, Amir faced harsh criticism from the crowd, with chants echoing throughout the stadium. However, he responded to the fan by showing his middle finger. The speedster, instrumental in Pakistan's success, including the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy, found himself under scrutiny once again.

Looking ahead, Babar Azam and his team are hopeful of qualifying for the Super 8. With their win against Canada and India’s victory over the USA by 7 wickets, Pakistan's chances have improved.

Their final group A match is against Ireland at Central Broward Regional Park on June 16, where weather conditions could play a significant role, with rain and potential flooding expected.
