India's head coach Rahul Dravid's tenure has come to an end as the team clinched the T20 World Cup 2024 by defeating South Africa in the final at the Kensington Oval, Barbados, on June 29.

Dravid, who took over from Ravi Shastri in November 2021, has been instrumental in India's success, guiding the team to the finals of the ODI World Cup 2023 and the World Test Championship, as well as securing the Asia Cup 2023.

Following the match, celebrations erupted in the dressing room. Dravid, in high spirits, channeled his iconic "Indranagar ka gunda" persona during the celebrations.

He reminded Virat Kohli, with a clear and emphatic message, of his near-complete trophy collection. "All three whites ticked off. One red to go. Tick it," Dravid told Kohli, emphasizing the remaining goal.

In the wake of this historic win, Virat Kohli announced his retirement from T20 internationals, marking the end of an era. Rohit Sharma soon followed suit, confirming his retirement during the post-match conference.

As Dravid's tenure concludes, speculation is rife that Gautam Gambhir will be his successor as head coach.
