Nicholas Pooran Apologizes To Ravi Bishnoi [Source: lucknowsupergiants/X.com]
On Thursday, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) impressed everyone with their incredible performance against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. Led by Rishabh Pant, LSG quickly made an impact from the start, with Shardul Thakur taking out two top-order batters in his first over.
By the third over, Thakur had already dismissed Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan.
Travis Head Keeps LSG On Their Toes
Travis Head, however, was still at the crease, keeping LSG on their toes. But in the sixth over of SRH’s innings, Ravi Bishnoi was about to claim his wicket. On the first ball of that over, Bishnoi bowled, and Head attempted a lofted straight drive. Nicholas Pooran, stationed at straight, failed to catch what seemed like an easy chance, dropping a sitter.
At the time, Head was on 35 runs, but despite the lifeline, he couldn’t capitalize on it. He was eventually dismissed for 35 runs by Prince Yadav in the eighth over.
Nicholas Pooran’s Honest Apology to Ravi Bishnoi for Costly Drop
After LSG’s five-wicket win, the team shared a video on social media where Pooran was seen apologizing to Bishnoi for dropping the catch.
“Because 70 (26) wasn’t a good enough apology for Bishi,” LSG captioned the video. In the clip, Pooran said, “I’m apologizing, I dropped your catch. Of who? Of Travis. I am really, really sorry. You should be sorry. I hope it doesn’t happen again.”
Despite the drop, Pooran went on to be the highest scorer in the match, smashing 70 runs off 26 balls while chasing 190 runs.
As for the match itself, SRH, after being asked to bat first, couldn’t get off to a strong start. They lost five wickets in just 15 overs. Shardul Thakur was the standout bowler for LSG, picking up four wickets, helping LSG restrict SRH to just 190 runs.
LSG’s chase didn’t start well either, losing Aiden Markram early. But Mitchell Marsh and Nicholas Pooran’s aggressive batting carried LSG to their first win of the tournament.
Next, LSG will face PBKS in the 13th match on April 1 at Ekana Cricket Stadium B Ground.
