The Chennai Super Kings fans can never be more excited as IPL 2025 is the season which saw a major overhaul in the franchise's squad and also saw the return of Ravichandran Ashwin to the camp. Notably, Ashwin's homecoming comes after a 6-year gap as he moved to different franchises ahead of the 2018 season.

The legendary off-spinner who announced his international retirement from cricket during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series was roped in by CSK for a whopping INR 9.75 crore enthralling fans upon his reunion with MS Dhoni.

MS Dhoni, Ashwin Meetup Sparks Nostalgia

Notably, CSK has already begun their prep camp with practice sessions and net sessions underway in full swing. On Thursday, February 27, CSK shared a video on social media featuring Dhoni and Ashwin heading onto the field for practice.

The video sparked nostalgia among fans, reminding them of the duo’s past triumphs in the iconic yellow jersey.

Dhoni's Last Dance and Ashwin's Nostalgic Homecoming

Meanwhile, as CSK will open their IPL 2025 season with a blockbuster clash against arch-rivals Mumbai Indians at Chepauk, a cloud of uncertainty on MS Dhoni's retirement rumours looms large.

MS Dhoni's arrival in Chennai for IPL 2025 has sparked retirement rumours after fans deciphered a cryptic message on his T-shirt in a team-released video. The print appeared to be Morse code, which, when translated, read "One Last Time."

This has led to speculation that the CSK legend might be playing his final IPL season, though no official confirmation has been made by Dhoni or the franchise.

Ashwin's Nostalgic Remarks On Homecoming

Meanwhile, speaking about his return to the franchise, Ashwin recalled the 2011 IPL auction, where CSK aggressively bid for him.

"They say life is a circle. I played for them from 2008 to 2015. I am always indebted to them. Whatever I learnt at CSK then has propelled me this far in international cricket. It's been 10 years since I played for CSK," Ashwin said.

Reflecting on the auction, Ravichandran Ashwin expressed his emotions about the franchise’s commitment to bringing him back.

"The price, CSK buying me and all that is there. But, I feel nostalgic because CSK fought for me during the bidding war like how they did in 2011. It was a trip down memory lane. It's a very special feeling."

Ashwin and Dhoni will be back at it again this season uniting their minds and guiding Gaikwad who will aim for the sixth title win for the franchise this season.
