In encouraging news for Team India, batter KL Rahul has started practicing wicket-keeping drills at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore. Rahul is currently undergoing rehabilitation after successful thigh surgery in the UK in May.

A key member of India's white-ball sides, Rahul dons the keeping gloves in ODIs, in the absence of Rishabh Pant.

Rahul took to the social media platform Instagram and shared a video montage of his time at the NCA, which saw him bat and go through various wicketkeeping drills.

The Bangalore-born player is targeting Asia Cup 2023 as a possible return for international cricket, having started his extensive rehab programme at NCA on June 14.

Rahul's thigh injury, which happened during the Indian Premier League (IPL) is the latest of many that has hampered the batter's progress over the past few years.

Rahul first suffered a thigh strain in November 2021 and since has had issues with his Hamstring, Wrist, and Groin, forcing the stylish opener to miss several high-profile series, including ICC World Test Championship 2023 Final.

Overall, the Lucknow Super Giants skipper has played 47 Tests, 54 ODIs, and 72 T20Is for India since 2014, amassing over 9,000 runs with 14 international centuries.
