Known for smacking gigantic sixes, West Indian player Johnson Charles who is currently representing Saint Lucia Kings in the ongoing Caribbean Premier League (CPL), has played another classy knock, this time against the Barbados Royals. His 78-run-inning consisted of six fours and five powerful sixes as he took just 52 balls to bat at a strike rate of 150.

The right-hander who opened the innings alongside New Zealand's Colin Munro formed a 97-partnership for the first wicket before the Kiwi was dismissed for 33. However, Charles continued his impressive show to take his side to 137 inside 16 overs as he was sent back by Jason Holder. In the end, they managed 195 with six wickets down.

The match took place at Kensington Oval in Barbados and as in the video shared by CPL's official X handle (formerly Twitter), Charles went big from the second over and then continued his dominance till the end of his innings. Also, the fact that he is now the leading run-getter in the tournament with 169 runs under his belt.

Royals' reply turned out to be a little too weak as they were cleaned up for a paltry 105 with Alzarri Joseph rattling the opposition by bowling a sublime spell of 3-7 in just 2.3 overs. This massive victory took St. Lucia to the top of the table with as many as 8 points from six games alongside boasting a healthy Net Run Rate of +2.3.

It is worth noting that the Kings will continue the rest of the season without their regular skipper Faf du Plessis who underwent surgery this week and in his absence, Zimbabwean Sikandar Raza has been handed the responsibility of leading the side.
