Team India has touched base in Barbados as part of their upcoming all-format away series against West Indies. The series will conclude their month-long break following their brutal WTC final defeat at the hands of Australia in London last month.

While the Tests against West Indies will launch India’s campaign for the 2023-25 World Test Championship cycle, the ODIs and T20Is will serve as a testing ground for the ‘Men in Blue’ ahead of the 2023 World Cup later this year.

Rohit Sharma and troops arrived in Barbados on July 2, i.e., full 10 days prior to the commencement of the opening Test. The players are currently on a break in a bid to shrug off their jet lag before starting off their training for the series.

Ishan Kishan has been selected as one of the wicketkeeping options for the Test and ODI series. The youngster travelled with the rest of the team and can currently be seen enjoying the leisurely time in the Caribbean.

Kishan even turned cameraman for the team’s volleyball session at a Barbados beach, and the moment itself has been shared by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

In a near two-minute video, Team India’s strength and conditioning coach Soham Desai also thanked the management for granting them a two-day break, and claimed that the players will soon be seen grinding on the nets as part of their preparations.

The two Test matches will be played in Windsor Park and Queen’s Park Oval between July 12 and July 24.

Meanwhile, the all-important ODIs will be hosted by Barbados and Trinidad & Tobago. The tour will conclude with a series of five T20I matches, where the final two fixtures will be played in Lauderhill, United States.
