Jos Buttler’s dazzling wicketkeeping skills were put to display during Lancashire’s big win over Northamptonshire in the North Group T20 Blast 2023 fixture in Manchester.

The English glovesman snared a blinder behind the stumps to gift his teammate Luke Wood the first of his three victims from the evening.

Buttler is already one of T20 cricket’s most prolific stumpers of all time, having bagged 180 dismissals across his wicketkeeping appearances.

Jos Buttler snares screamer to pack Vasconcelos

Jos Buttler turned up for Lancashire Lightning in their match against the Northamptonshire for the ninth time this T20 Blast 2023 season.

Northamptonshire openers Emilio Gay and Ricardo Vasconcelos arrived to the crease after Lightning skipper Liam Livingstone had opted to field first.

Earlier in the Northamptonshire innings, Vasconcelos attempted to work the ball towards his off-side against Lancashire new-ball speedster Luke Wood. However, the opener merely managed an edge, which was safely pouched by a flying Buttler behind the stumps.

Wood claimed two more wickets in the innings to restrict Northamptonshire to just 138 off their 20 overs.

Later in the game, Buttler managed just a run-a-ball 11 in the run-chase while opening the innings for Lancashire. However, his partner Phil Salt ensured his side crossed the finishing line with ease.

While the 32-year-old failed to make much impact with the bat from his end, the English veteran has been in scintillating touch for his side this season. The dynamic stroke-maker has listed 292 runs from just nine T20 Blast 2023 innings, at an average of nearly 33.

Buttler will now go up against Surrey in Lancashire’s immediate fixture on July 7. The match is scheduled to be played out at Manchester’s Old Trafford stadium.
