As the cricket world is engrossed in the discussion over India's first-choice wicketkeeper for the upcoming World Cup 2023, Dinesh Karthik is soaking up quality time away from the pitch with his family in the United Kingdom.

Karthik enjoys cycle ride with family in the UK

Karthik, who last featured on the field in IPL 2023, has been away from active play but stayed connected with the sport through his commentary. He commentated during the World Test Championship (WTC) 2023 Final and also during the intense Ashes 2023.

On Thursday, the 38-year-old cricketer shared a heartwarming reel on his official Instagram handle, showcasing snippets from his UK vacation. In the video, Karthik along with his wife and Indian squash player, Dipika Pallikal can be seen cycling with their twin sons Kabir & Zain sitting behind them.

Meanwhile, even during his time off, Karthik couldn't completely escape from cricket talks. Recently, while addressing the ongoing debate about the wicketkeeper selection for World Cup 2023, especially after the unfortunate incident involving Rishabh Pant, Karthik had a witty response.

When asked about his views on the potential selection, he hinted at his presence during the World Cup. However, he was referring to his stint in the commentary box for the marquee event which will commence on October 5 in India.

"You'll see me in the World Cup, for sure, is what I can say," he quipped on Twitter.


Although Karthik's active playing days might be limited, he certainly has made a name for himself in the broadcasting arena, offering valuable insights from his rich experience.
