Shaheen Afridi made instant impact on his ‘The Hundred’ debut this 2023 season for Welsh Fire. The Pakistani speed maverick removed Manchester Originals’ Phil Salt and Laurie Evans off his first two balls of the match to give his side an early advantage in the rain-affected game.

Following Welsh Fire’s nine-run win, Afridi engaged in a post-match conversation with England’s recently-retired fast bowler Stuart Broad. Cricketer-cum-commentator Dinesh Karthik, who stood between the two lanky speedsters, recently made a hilarious remark about his experience of sharing the screen with them.

Dinesh Karthik tags Ben Duckett in height comparison joke

Indian cricketer Dinesh Karthik is currently in England as one of the commentators for The Hundred 2023 season. Stuart Broad, who recently announced his retirement from international cricket, is also a part of the broadcasting team.

The two caught up with Welsh Fire’s hero Shaheen Afridi following the speedster’s match-winning spell against Manchester Originals.

Karthik, heighted 5ft 7inch, stood between the two tall pacers during their post-match conversation. A while later on Twitter, the Indian wicketkeeper-batter quote-tweeted the same clip and joked about his shorter height in comparison with the two fast bowlers.

Moreover, Karthik also tagged Ben Duckett in his tweet and concluded with the hashtag #heightissues. Duckett himself is one of the shorter English players, and his pictures from the Ashes 2023 series had gone viral after he stood between Broad and Zak Crawley at the national anthem.

In the meantime, Afridi followed up his opening burst against Originals with another tight spell against Southern Brave.

He is now gearing up to face Oval Invincibles on August 6. The match will be played out at The Oval in London.
