In a bizarre yet scary incident, famed Bangladesh opener Mohammad Naim has grabbed a million eyeballs through his daring fire-walking stunt ahead of the Asia Cup 2023. Notably, Naim has been working with a mind trainer to fine-tune the mental aspects of his game before the marquee event, and this audacious act was a part of the training process.

In a widely-circulated video doing rounds on social media, Naim is seen walking on burning charcoal with utmost bravery and ease. Initially, the trainer instructs and motivates him to execute the adventurous act, to which he obliges and performs it after making up his mind.

As we know, the mental strength of a cricketer plays a pivotal role in shaping his career, significantly impacting his on-field performance. So, it's obviously a wise call for a player to work on mental conditioning and prepare himself for adverse situations he is expected to face on the field.

However, such a bizarre and dangerous way of mind-training has received backlash from the cricket fraternity, with many fans and experts expressing their disappointment and concern about the incident.

Naim has played three ODIs for Bangladesh with mediocre success, managing only ten runs, including a duck. The stylish southpaw, who played his last ODI against Afghanistan last month, will aim at redemption in the Asia Cup starting on August 30.
