Andre Russell is one of the most fearsome hitters of the cricket ball, and has been a match-winner for KKR over the years. He was retained for 12 Crore ahead of the 2025 season, and has now started his preparation for the first game of the upcoming edition with a bang.
The big all-rounder from Caribbean is known for his injury-prone nature, but this time around he looks supremely fit and is hitting the ball quite well. KKR released a video of Andre Russell hitting balls cleanly in the nets few days ago and he came out blazing in their practice game at the Edens too.
Andre Russell Smashes Anrich Nortje For A Massive Six
In the video posted by the official Instagram handle of KKR, Andre Russell is seen batting with Rinku Singh. Anrich Nortje is the bowler and he bowled a shortish delivery on off. The batter made room and slammed it over wide long on for a six.
It was a vintage Andre Russell hit. He moved away from the line of the ball in the flash and went for a wild slog to send the ball out of the park against the fastest bowler of KKR.
Andre Russell would need to continue the same form when KKR take on RCB in the first game of the season at the Eden Gardens. KKR have a new captain in the form of Ajinkya Rahane this season, and it would be interesting to see how the defending champions go about their business in their title defence.
