In a much-awaited face-off, dynamic finisher Rinku Singh was up against his KKR teammate and veteran Australian pacer Mitchell Starc in a pre-season intra-squad game and the battle of titans was nothing short of a captivating sight. 

Starc returned to IPL after a long layoff and KKR welcomed him with a Rs 24.75 crores contract. Needless to say, as the new IPL season kicks off, all eyes will be on IPL's most expensive pick to witness if he lives up to the hype.

Having said that, in a pre-season intra-squad game ahead of KKR’s inaugural game against SRH, Starc was pitted against none other than KKR's explosive finisher Rinku Singh.

Rinku rose to fame through his heroics in the previous IPL season. His six-hitting abilities and composed demeanour during crunch moments caught the fans’ attention. He led KKR to awe-inspiring victories last year, which made him a fan favourite.

The southpaw humbled his Rs 24.75 crore teammate in the practice game. After pushing a cheeky boundary towards the third man via edge, Rinku slammed a huge six over a deep square boundary off Starc. The batter didn’t stop and smoked another powerful boundary over the covers.

While Starc struggled in the practice game, KKR had something to cheer for in Rinku Singh. The finisher is expected to play a vital role in getting Kolkata Knight Riders through the finish line in pressure moments.

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will take on Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) later today at Eden Gardens for their first matchup of the IPL 2024 season.
