Social media has provided almost everyone with a medium to express themselves, sadly not everyone who is on it understands it well. Supporters of sporting personalities can be a handful to handle on social media, as revealed by former Pakistan captain and legend Wasim Akram.

After the completion of the Asia Cup 2022 final between Pakistan and Sri Lanka, the 1992 World Cup-winning player revealed how he was targeted online for his opinion of Mohammad Rizwan's batting.

Rizwan's 49-ball 55, while chasing 171 to win, was touted as one of the reasons for Pakistan's 23-run defeat in Dubai last evening.

Akram talked about how he felt about the Pakistani openers

"At the beginning of the tournament, I had said that the openers won't mess up but struggle in games like these. That's exactly what happened today,"

"He (Rizwan) had done the same thing against Hong Kong if you remember. I criticised him, which was healthy criticism. And people attacked me on social media. Pakistan people said that I don't support Rizwan. If you want my opinion, I will give you the right and straightforward opinion. I am not the guy who will lie about what I see. Black is black and white is white for me."

"The question mark gets put on Rizwan because he has been unable to finish matches. He needs support around him. He can't take 45 balls to score 45 runs, and that is going to be a problem."

Interestingly, Rizwan ended the Asia Cup 2022 as the leading run-scorer surpassing India's Virat Kohli.
