Virender Sehwag will always be remembered as one of the finest opening batters in the annals of Indian cricket. The opener was one of the first players to introduce India to the concept of batting fearlessly and aggressively. The unorthodox approach of the right-hander led him to a glorious cricket career with over 8586 Test and 8273 ODI runs in 104 and 251 matches respectively.

However, everything was not rosy for the veteran from the very beginning. The 43-year-old had the worst start to One Day Internationals as he bagged a duck against Pakistan on his debut in April 1999. Failing to perform against Pakistan is a big setback for any Indian player and naturally, Sehwag was also subjected to a lot of criticism.
